The sixth, unexpressed Islamic precept, Jihad.
The sixth, unexpressed Islamic precept, Jihad.
According to the Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, the jihad kinds are:
1- Jihad al-NAFS, (i.e. against one’s self), which is Striving to learn the teachings of Islam and to induce oneself to act in accordance with them, Striving to call others to Islam, and to bear the difficulties involved in calling people to Allah and in suffering the insults of people; all that for the sake of Allah.
2- Jihad al-SHAYTAN (i.e. against the Devil), which is Warding off the doubts about faith, and ward off the corrupt desires that he provokes.
3- Jihad against the “hypocrites”, disbelievers, and leaders of oppression and innovation. Jihad against the “hypocrites” and disbelievers is done in four ways: with the heart, with the tongue, using one’s wealth and life.
(Zaad al-Ma’aad).
Fasting is imposed by a Koranic verse.
(Sura II, v. 183) “O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you..”.
The Jihad fighting is imposed with the same wordings, and the Koran tells that the jihad is the best fighting the Muslims.
(Sura II, v. 216) “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it.”.
Muslims divide precepts in 2 categories
* Personal precept (FARD ‘AYN), which is an individual obligation, and it is not permissible to discard.
* Collective precept (FARD KIFAYAH), which is obligatory upon the community as a whole. If enough people undertake it, the rest are relieved of the obligation.
The ruling on physical jihad against the “hypocrites” and disbelievers is a collective duty. It becomes individual obligation in some circumstances. For example:
1) If a person is present where fighting is going on.
(Sura VIII, v. 15-16) “O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them. If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell, an evil refuge (indeed)!”.
Hence, it is not permissible for him to run away, even if in great danger.
2) If Muslims attacked by an enemy.
Islam was imposed by the sword only, after moving Muhammad from Mecca to Yathrib.
(Sura III, v. 83) “all creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willing or unwilling, bowed to His Will (Accepted Islam)”.
(IKREMA) Unwillingly, refers to who are forced to Islam.
(Abu Huraira) “Allah's Prophet” said: I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand. (Bukhari, vol. 4, n. 220).
(Abu Huraira) When “Allah's Prophet” died and Abu BAKR was elected as a Caliph after him, some of the Arabs reverted to disbelief, `Omar said to Abu BAKR: How dare you fight the people while the Prophet said “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,
And whoever says that, waves his wealth and his life from me unless he deserves a legal punishment lusty, and his account will be with Allah! Abu BAKR said: By Allah, I will fight him who discriminates between ZAKAT and prayers, for ZAKAT is the Compulsory right to be taken from the wealth By Allah, if they refuse to give me even a tying rope which they use to give to Allah's Apostle, I would fight them for withholding it. `Omar said: By Allah, I saw that Allah had opened the chest of Abu BAKR to the fight, and I came to know for certain that was the truth. (Bukhari, vol. 9, n. 388).
The violence of the Islamic Jihad is illustrated in the sequence of orders in the fighting and killing verses in the Koran during the period of life of Muhammad in Medina.
a) First, it was just a permission statement at the beginning of the migration of Muhammad to Yathrib.
(Sura XXII, v. 39) "
b) Second: Turning permission to order.
(Sura II, v. 216) “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it.”.
It is well known that this Sura was composed from various sections collected in different times.
c) Third, Changing to a strict command in one of the late Koran's Suras, including an exception of the people of the book.
(Sura V, v. 35-41, (47) “O ye who believe! Do your duty to Allah, seek the means of approach unto Him, … As to those who reject Faith, their penalty will be one that endures. O Messenger, let not those grieve thee, who race each other into unbelief: (whether it be) among those who say "We believe" with their lips but whose hearts have no faith;... Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel.”.
d) Fourth, and finally, War against the people of the book.
(Sura IX, v. 29) “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”.
Any Christian must be killed unless he pays an obligatory tribute fight because he does not convert to Islam.
This Sura was “revealed” after the conquest of Mecca. It was also composed from foregoing sporadic pieces grouped together.
The so-called "Jihad" began originally to get all the spoils of Mohammedan’s wars. A man called Abbas ibn MERDAS blamed the Prophet of Islam though verses of poetry, saying:
You give other 2 persons the spoils belonging to me & to my horse,
I was a rapacious, predator of open deserts attacking on foal
I was a wealthy man in my tribe, given nothing anything not withheld.
(The Major Classes, vol. 4, p. 206).
(Abu QATADA) The Prophet has said: Who kills a man, have the right to obtain his spoils. (The Major Classes, vol. 3, p. 384).
(ASIM) The “Messenger of Allah” sent us in attacking expedition, he said: Kill any person you find, unless you see a mosque, or hear the muezzin. (The Major Classes, vol. 2, p. 113).
The main purpose of the so-called jihad was to capture the bounties of others.
(Aisha) When Khaybar was conquered, we said, "Now we will eat our fill of dates! (Bukhari, vol. 5, n. 547).
(Ibn Omar) We did not eat our fill except after we had conquered Khaybar. (Bukhari, vol. 5, n. 548).
Jihad against infidels and “hypocrites”.
(Sura II, v. 190-195) “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, ... And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; … if they fight you, slay them. … And fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah. ... there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise against him. … And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction…”.
(Sura IV, v. 89-91) “But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah. But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks; except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. ... if they withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them…”.
There are two types of Jihad against the non-Muslims.
1- Offensive Jihad, when the Muslims launch an offensive attack. The purpose of which is to ensure the unbelievers remain terrorized and away from mischief, thereby, allowing the message of Islam to be conveyed without any obstructions.
2- Defensive Jihad is when the enemy attacks, forcing the Muslims in to a defensive position. This is one of the most important Personal obligations upon the Muslims.
(Sura II, v. 193) “fight them on until there is no more Tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah.”
That means, Islam must prevail without any undisputed.
(Abdullah) The Prophet said: I have been sent with the sword between my hands to ensure that no one but Allah is worshipped, Allah who put my livelihood under the shadow of my spear and who inflicts humiliation and scorn on those who disobey my orders.
Also:
The Prophet Muhammad said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the “Messenger of Allah”, establish the prayer and pay the ZAKAT.
Although jihad is imposed upon the Muslims, they do not say so explicitly, according to the principle of dissimulation.
The verse of the sword.
(Sura IX, v. 5) “Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem.”.
This was called the verse of the Sword.
(Dahhak) This verse was called the verse of the Sword. It abrogated every agreement of peace between the Prophet and any idolater, every treaty, and every term.
(Ibn Abbas) No idolater had any more treaty or promise of safety ever since Sura IX was revealed.
(Imam Ibn SALAMA) The fifth verse of Sura IX, i.e. “Kill the infidels …etc.”, abrogated (i.e. voided) from the Koran one hundred and twenty-four verses, dealing with avoidance of idolaters, patience on the annoyance, and pardon and forgiveness to them. (Book of the Abrogating and Abrogated).
Here are some of the texts existing in the Koran that is canceled completely from usage.
* (Sura II, v. 83) “treat with kindness…”.
* (Sura II, v. 109) “forgive and overlook,”.
* (The II, v. 256) “Let there be no compulsion in religion.”.
* (Sura IV, v. 80) “He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah. But if any turn away, We have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds).”.
* (Sura VI, v. 66) “But thy people reject this, though it is the truth. Say: "Not mine is the responsibility for arranging your affairs;”.
* (Sura VII, v. 199) “Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; But turn away from the ignorant.”.

* (Sura L, v. 39) “Bear, then, with patience, all that they say,”.
* (Sura XXIII, v. 96) “Repel evil with that which is best,”.
* (Sura XXVII, v. 92) “...and if any stray, say: "I am only a Warner.”.
* (Sura XXIX 46) “And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with best means better,”.
* (Sura LXVII, v. 26) “Say: I am (sent) only to warn plainly in public.”.
* (Sura XXXII, v. 30) “So turn away from them, and wait:”.
* (Sura XXXV, v. 23) “Thou (O Prophet) art no other than a warner.”.
* (Sura LXXXVIII, v. 22) “Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs.”.
* (Sura CIX, v. 1-6) “Say : O ye that reject Faith! To you be your Way, and to me mine.”.
* (Sura III, v. 20) “if they dispute with thee, say: I have submitted my whole self to Allah”.
* (Sura XXII, v. 69) “say: (Allah) will judge between you on the Day of Judgment concerning the matters in which ye differ.”.
With regard to the Koran text
(Sura VIII, v. 61) “if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah.”.
It means appeasement, has also abrogated verse of the sword.
(Sura IX, v. 5) “Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem.”.
No time is specified, without care if others are peaceful or aggressive.
It is a pure criminality.
* (Sura II, v. 190) “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits;”...
Is abrogated by
(Sura II, v. 194-195) “Transgress ye likewise … And spend of your substance in the cause of Allah.”.
And by
(Sura IX, v. 36) “fight the Pagans all together …”.
(Sura IX, v. 111) “Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through .. the Qur'an. Then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded.”.
(Sura LXI, v. 10-12) “O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty? That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew!He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement.”.
(Anas ibn Malik) The Prophet said: A walk in the path of Allah, the jihad, going or returning, is better than the world and what it contains. (Termidhi, n. 1657).
Incitement to fight in "the way of Allah" (i.e. Jihad).
In the Koran, Allah incites Muslims to fight through the Prophet of the doom Muhammad.
(Sura VIII, v. 65) “O Messenger. rouse the Believers to the fight.”.
(Sura VIII, v. 15-16) “O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them. If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)!”.
Or directly to the Muhammad followers.
(Sura II, v. 278-279) “O ye who believe! … Take notice of war from Allah and His Messenger. But if ye turn back, ye shall have your capital sums.”.
(Sura IX, v. 14) “Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers,”.
Also, the Mohammedan traditions include incitements to fight and to kill.
(Abu Huraira) The “Messenger of Allah” said: Allah has undertaken to look after the affairs of one who goes out to fight in His way believing in Him and affirming the truth of His Apostles. He is committed to His care that Re will either admit him to Paradise or bring him back to his home from where he set out with a reward or (his share of) booty. (Sahih Muslim, Bk 20, n. 4626).
The “Messenger of Allah” said: The horses have goodness in their foreheads (or he said) or goodness is ingrained in the foreheads of the horses up till the Day of Judgements.
(Abu Huraira) A man came to “Allah's Messenger” and said: Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward). He replied, "I do not find such a deed.(Bukhari, vol. 4, n. 44).
(Ibn 'Omar) “Allah's Messenger” said: You will fight against the Jews and you will kill them until even a stone would say: Come here, Muslim, there is a Jew (hiding himself behind me); kill him. (Sahih Muslim, Bk 41, n. 6981).
(Abu Huraira) “Allah's Messenger” said: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews. Bk 41, Number 6985)
Violence of the Jihad.
(Sura VIII, v. 12-16) “Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them. This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger. Taste ye then of the (punishment): for those who resist Allah, is the penalty of the Fire. O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them.”.
(Sura XLVII, v. 4)
From Mohammedan traditions.
(Abdullah ibn Amro ibn al-AAS) The "Messenger of Allah" said to the people of Mecca: You hear O people, I swear, I come to slaughter you. (Musnad Ahmad).
Benefits of Jihad
* Allah promised the admission in the Islamic Paradise for those who participate in jihad.
(Abu-NUJAIH) I participated with the “Messenger of Allah” in blockade of a stronghold in TA’IF, and I heard him saying: Who hurl an arrow in the sake of Allah, independently if strikes or not, gains a degree in the [Islamic] Paradise. (Sunan al-Bayhaqi).
* Rewards: Either spoils or [Islamic] Paradise in case of death.
(Sura IV, v. 74) “Let those fight in the cause of Allah Who sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah,- whether he is slain or gets victory - Soon shall We give him a reward of great (value).”.
(Abu Huraira) The Prophet said: Allah has undertaken to provide for one who leaves his home (only) to fight for His cause and to affirm the truth of His word; Allah will either admit him to Paradise or will bring him back home from where he had come out, with his reward and booty. (Mulim, Bk 20, Number 4628).
Even animal writes his advantages in Jihad!
(Abu Huraira) The Prophet said: Every footstep of The Muslim fighter’s horse is rewarded even while it wanders about tied in a long rope. (Bukhari, Book of Jihad, vol. 4, n. 44).
* Special privileges for martyr, those who die in jihad.
(Sura III, v. 169-172) “Think not of those who are slain in Allah’s way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord;
They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah. And with regard to those left behind, who have not yet joined them (in their bliss), the (Martyrs) glory in the fact that on them is no fear, nor have they (cause to) grieve. They glory in the Grace and the bounty from Allah, and in the fact that Allah suffereth not the reward of the Faithful to be lost (in the least). Of those who answered the call of Allah and the Messenger, even after being wounded, those who do right and refrain from wrong have a great reward;“.
(Miqdam) “Allah’s Messenger” said: There are with Allah six blessings for the martyr. (1) He is forgiven with the first drop of his blood. (2) He is shown his abode in paradise. (3) He is preserved from the torment of the grave and is safe from the great fear on the Day of Resurrection. (4) A crown of honour ingrained with pearl is placed on his head, which is better than the world and what it contains. (5) He is married to seventy-two maidens (huris) of paradise. (6) His intercession for his seventy relatives is accepted.”(Tirmidhi). [Ahmed 12013, Ibn e Majah 2799]
Punishment of relinquishing the Jihad.
According to the Koran, discarding the Jihad in the cause of Allah is punished with torment, lack of consideration from the side of believers, and the miserable end in the Hellfire of Allah of Muslims.
(Sura IX, v. 38-39) “O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place;”.
(Sura VIII, v. 15-16) “O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them. If any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own) - he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell, an evil refuge (indeed)!”.
This is confirmed by Mohammedan traditions.
(Ibn Omar) The Prophet said: If you deal with loan payment, and hang onto the tails of cows being satisfied with cultivation, and ceasing to take part in Jihad, Allah will inflict a humiliation upon you which will not be removed until you return to your religion. (Ahmad) - (Abu Dawoud).
That is why people are currently active in the practice of violent jihad at this time.
Martial arts in Islam.
* In the case of weakness, then by dissimulation precautionary principle, Muslims can claim that Islam is a religion of peace. This is a big lie.
One should keep in mind that the verse of sword has abrogated (i.e. cancelled) every agreement of peace between the Prophet and any idolater, every treaty, and every term. Ibn Abbas said: No unbeliever had any more treaty or promise of safety ever since Sura IX was revealed.
The compulsive verse of the sword abrogated one hundred and twenty-four verses of the Koran, dealing with forgiveness, peace.
The end justifies the means.
In the case of weakness, Muslims should wait a moment of strength to pounce on others.
According to Muhammad’s Sunnah, and in compliance with the order Koran the Muslims in order to strive to be their strength.
(Sura VIII, 60) “Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies (O Muhammad).”.
It is agreed between Muslim that they should try to achieve power to overcome other people.
* In the case of power, no mercy nor pity.
(Sura IV, v. 104) “And slacken not in following up the enemy: If ye are suffering hardships, they are suffering similar hardships;”.
That means they should have the initiative of the attack.
(Sura XLVII, v. 35) "
It means if they are more powerful, they must insist on fighting.
(Sura VIII, v. 12-13)”Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them. This because they contended against Allah and His Messenger.”.
It means do neither pity nor mercy.
* War is stratagem, said the prophet!
The tricks include treachery and assassination.
The Execution of Ka'b ibn Ashraf was a treacherously betrayed him. The reason is trivial, namely composing a poem.
(Ibn IS’HAQ) Ka'b ibn Ashraf's was a poet. Originally was one of Jews who were reconciled with the prophet. When he received news of the deaths of those at BADR He commented: By God, if Muhammad has really struck down those people, then better he should be inside the earth than upon it! When he was sure of this news, which angered him, he left for Mecca. He composed verses mourning the deaths of Meccan people killed at BADR. He also wrote satires ridiculing the Prophet. Somebody asked him: I abjure you in the Name of Allah, is our religion better in the sight of God or that of Muhammad? He replied: You are better guided than him. So Allah of Mohamed “revealed”:
(Sura IV, v. 51) “Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? they believe in sorcery and Evil, and say to the Unbelievers that they are better guided in the (right) way than the believers!”.
Ka'b then returned to Medina where he composed verses that were suggestive about the Muslim women and critical of the Prophet and his followers.
(JABIR) The Prophet said: Who is ready to kill Ka’b ibn Ashraf the Jew? A man said: Do you like me to kill him?’ The Prophet replied in the affirmative. Then the man said: Then allow me to tell lies. The Prophet replied: I do (i.e. allow you). (Bukhari vol. 4 book 52).
The man who volunteered for the assassination used dishonesty to gain Ka'b's trust, pretending that they had turned against Muhammad. This drew the victim out of his fortress, whereupon he was brutally slaughtered. (Bukhari).
The next morning the Jews came to the Prophet. They protested about the dastardly murder of their chief Ka'b without guilt. The Prophet said: So each would happen not keep quiet itself, but the Muslims insulting and mocking, or satirizing myself. So the prophet offered them renewal of the peace treaty. He then joined them with a written contract in this sense, on the contents they were obliged to agree. Since the time the Jews were fearful and intimidated.
Lessons
1. It is allowable to assassinate one of the enemies by deception because of his treachery or untrustworthiness.
2. It is Permissible to tell lies to the enemies and playing tricks on them, for war is a deception.
3. It is a lesson to others to discourage them from treacherous actions against Islam.
* Possibilities of premeditate raids and assaults surprising infidels.
The verse of the sword
(Sura IX, v. 5) “Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem.”.
* Permissibility to kill women and boys in the wars.
(Sa'b b. Jaththama) the Prophet of Allah, when asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid, said: They are from them. (Sahih Muslim, Jihad, Bk 19, n. 4321).
Muslims induced their reason:
The "Messenger of Allah" said: The provisions of their parents, as inheritance, marriage, punishments, blood money and so on, are applied equally on them. (Explanation of NAWAWI on Sahih Muslim).
* The use of non-Muslims
(Abu Huraira) We assisted (the raid against) Khaybar. “Allah's Prophet” said about a man of those who were with him: This (man) will be the Hellfire. When the battle started, that fellow fought so violently and bravely that he received plenty of wounds. Some of the people were about to doubt (the Prophet's statement), but the man, feeling the pain of his wounds, put his hand into his quiver and took out of it, then he slaughtered himself (i.e. committed suicide). Then some men amongst the Muslims came hurriedly and said: Oh “Allah's Messenger”! Allah has made your statement true, he has committed suicide. The Prophet said to a Person: Get up and make an announcement that none but a believer will enter Paradise and that Allah may support the religion with an unchaste (evil) wicked man. (Bukhari, Maghazi, vol. 5, n. 515).
On the other hand, the Prophet took help for his war from an unbeliever before his conversion to Islam.
It happened that the prophet Muhammad planned the Hunain raid and he was in need to weapons and hauberks. Safwan was a prominent weapon merchant in Mecca, the prophet asked the weapon of Safwan for a loan.
Safwan accepted, and he went with Muslims to Hunain. When Muslims got victory and gained unheard spoils. The prophet gave each of those whose hearts had to inclined to Islam (Al-Mu'allafati Qulubuhum) one hundred camels and one hundred sheep. The prophet Muhammad called on Safwan and gave him 100 camels.
However; the matter was not concluded.
(WAQIDI) It is said that Safwan went with the Prophet to inspect the spoils. The Prophet Muhammad noticed Safwan looking at a piece of land where some cattle and sheep were kept. Safwan was dazzled at the scene. The Prophet asked him leniently: Do you like this piece of land? Safwan said: Yes, indeed. The Prophet said: “It is yours, with all that is in it. Safwan said: No one can give so generously except a Prophet. I declare that there is no deity other than Allah, and that you are “Allah’s Messenger”.
These Islamic Martial Arts show vileness, aim to terrorize peaceful.
Is jihad is over?
Of course not.
Jihad is eternal!
(ALY, the alleged nephew of Muhammad) The prophet said: Jihad will continue with each Muslim leader up to the Day of Resurrection (Majma).
(Salamah ibn NUFAYL) The “Messenger of Allah” said: There will always be a group among my nation (Ummah) who will fight for the truth against some people, whom Allah will cause to deviate. Allah will grant [my nation] provision [booties] from these people. This shall continue, until the Last Hour begins when the promise of Allah comes. Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection. (Sunan NISSA’I, Book of horses, n. 3591 - Sahih).
This shows that he will remain as long as the Eternity.
(Anas ibn Malik) The Prophet said: Jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day in which the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist). The tyranny of any tyrant and the justice of any just (ruler) will not invalidate it. One must have faith in Divine decree. (Sunan Abu Dawoud, Jihad, book 14, n. 2526).
And the disruption of jihad is not permitted.
Non-participating in Jihad makes a Muslim disbeliever in Islam.
(Abu Huraira) The “Messenger of Allah” said: Whoever dies without having fought or having resolved to fight has died following a branch of hypocrisy. (Sahih Muslim, 1910).
N.B. This is a kernel of more detailed paper on Jihad, which include also historical and actual examples. The original paper, deals also with the principles of “WALA'A wa BARA'A, i.e. devotion and reclusiveness. In other words:
- Total submission only to Allah and his prophet Mohammad
- Total refusal to non-believers.
The main purpose of these principals is to keep the members of the muslim community from being integrated into other non-muslim communities.
